Modern təhsil sistemində xarici dilin, xüsusilə də ingilis dilinin erkən yaşlardan öyrənilməsi qlobal dünyaya inteqrasiyanın ən vacib şərtlərindən biri hesab olunur. Azərbaycanda 1-ci sinif şagirdləri üçün nəzərdə tutulmuş "İngilis dili" dərslikləri uşaqların dil öyrənməyə ilk addımlarını maraqlı, interaktiv və effektiv şəkildə atmalarını təmin etmək məqsədi daşıyır. Hazırda bu səviyyədə istifadə olunan əsas dərsliklərdən biri "Happy Campers" seriyasıdır ki, bu da beynəlxalq standartlara uyğunlaşdırılmış metodologiya ilə hazırlanmışdır. Bu dərsliklər sadəcə qrammatika və ya lüğət bazası deyil, həm də uşağın psixoloji inkişafını nəzərə alan pedaqoji bir vasitədir.

Ən çox yayılmış nəşrlərdən biri “İngilis dili 1” (müəllif: Q. Hüseynzadə və b.) dərsliyidir. Onun quruluşu belədir:

Workbook Synergy: Alongside the main textbook, students usually use activity workbooks that help develop the fine motor skills required for tracing and writing English letters.

However, designing an effective first-grade textbook is not without challenges. The biggest risk is overloading the child with too many new words or overly complex instructions. A successful textbook uses only 2-3 new words per lesson and relies heavily on repetition. Additionally, the textbook must be durable – first graders are known for being energetic, so the pages should be thick and the binding strong. Teachers also note that the textbook works best when supplemented with realia (real objects like toys or fruit) and digital tools; it cannot stand alone.
