This paper is officially divided into two parts: Part A (Listening) and Part B (Integrated Skills).

1. Time pressure: Students had to respond quickly to questions and engage in conversations within a limited time frame.
2. Unfamiliar topics: Some students may not have been familiar with the topics discussed in the recording, making it difficult for them to respond confidently.
3. Pronunciation and intonation: Students' pronunciation and intonation were assessed in the recording, which can be a challenge for non-native English speakers.
4. Interacting with examiners and peers: Students had to interact with examiners and peers in a formal setting, which can be intimidating.

• Hong Kong Public Libraries: Many branches keep past paper CDs in the reference section. You can listen on-site.
• School resource centres: Most secondary schools have a past paper archive for F.6 students.
• Tutorial centres (King’s Glory, Beacon, Modern Education): Their DSE listening mock exam CDs sometimes include reconstructed versions of the 2013 paper (with permission).
• HKEAA online store: You can purchase the “HKDSE English Language – Past Papers (2012-2024)” pack, which includes all recordings as digital downloads.
