i-Monitor IIUM is an integrated, web-based academic performance monitoring system designed to track, analyze, and report student progress across all faculties of the International Islamic University Malaysia. Developed as an in-house solution, it serves as a proactive intervention tool to identify at-risk students early in the semester, reduce attrition rates, and enhance academic advising. The system bridges the gap between administrative data (grades, attendance) and actionable insights for academic advisors, lecturers, and department heads.
Typical Workflow (example)
- Unit reporter logs into i-Monitor and selects “New Report.”
- Reporter fills structured fields: title, category, unit, description, severity, attachments, and proposed action.
- System assigns an ID and notifies the unit head and assigned action owner.
- Action owner updates progress, adds comments, and marks tasks complete when done.
- Overdue items trigger escalation rules to higher management.
- Monthly dashboards update KPIs and generate summary reports for review.
