Review: IR2110 Proteus Library

1. Overview

The IR2110 is a high-voltage, high-speed power MOSFET and IGBT driver from Infineon (formerly International Rectifier). It features independent high and low side referenced output channels, making it essential for half-bridge, full-bridge, and buck converter topologies.

The IR2110 Proteus library provides an accurate method for validating complex power stage designs. Proper setup of the bootstrap components in the simulation environment is mandatory for realistic results. ir2110 proteus library

Introduction The IR2110 is a dual-channel gate driver manufactured by Infineon (formerly International Rectifier). It provides independent high-side and low-side gate drive outputs with floating high-side drive capability, undervoltage lockout, and rapid switching capability, making it suitable for driving MOSFETs and IGBTs in motor drives, DC–DC converters, inverters, and other switching power supplies. Accurate simulation of the IR2110 in circuit simulators like Proteus allows designers to validate gate timing, dead-time, shoot-through prevention, and interactions with MOSFET gate charge and bootstrap circuits before hardware prototyping. • Connect a Digital Clock or Pulse Generator to HIN (Pin 10) and LIN (Pin 12).
  • Ensure VDD (Pin 9) is connected to 5V or 15V (depending on your logic level).
  • Ensure VSS (Pin 13) is connected to Logic Ground.
