Knowing when to send or overbuild is the difference between a win and a loss. Critical Waves to Watch Wave 10 (The Boss): Massive single-target damage required. Wave 13 (Drill Golems): Magic damage is king here. Wave 15 (Quadrapus): Piercing damage will melt your tanks. The Legion TD Strategy Paper: Fundamentals of the
Leak Management: Leaking isn't always bad if it means you pushed more workers. 320 mythium (King’s Guard + Doom): King’s Guard
Tier 2 Combos (Devastating)
- 320 mythium (King’s Guard + Doom): King’s Guard is an aura that reduces armor. Doom silences abilities. This kills any "ability-dependent" builder (e.g., Pyro, Disciple, Butcher).
- 400 mythium (Harbinger + 2x Ghost): Harbinger spawns exploding minions. Ghosts make your towers miss. Use on wave 8 (fast magic-immune mobs). Game-ending send.
- When to send: Send right before a wave that your opponent's build is weak against.
- Example: If your opponent is all magic damage, save gold and send a Kingpin on Wave 7 (Magic Immune) or Wave 8 (High magic resist).
What to look for:
- Worker count: Count the workers standing behind their King. If they have 3 or more workers by round 3, they are greedy. Send hard on wave 4.
- Mercenaries crossing: If you see snails/ghosts moving down their lane, they sent to you. Expect pressure next wave. Buy a cheap defensive tower immediately.
- Missing tower types: If they have no anti-air by wave 5, they will leak on wave 5. Do not send – save mythium for wave 7.
- The "Mimic" tell: If they copy your send pattern (e.g., you send snail, they send snail), they are autopiloting. Break the pattern by saving a full 400 mythium and sending on an odd round.
- Income sources: base gold per round, interest/bonus from unspent gold, and selling/refunding units.
- Spend enough to survive but save to gain interest/bonuses when appropriate.
4. The Late-Game Scalable: Pyro + Hydra
- How to place: Hydra in front (tank), Pyro behind (splash).
- Wave strength: Struggles pre-wave 4, then dominates waves 5-12.
- Transition: Upgrade Hydra to Egg then Drake. King upgrades needed by wave 15.
- Worker timing: Slow workers until wave 7, then explode to 6 workers.
