The Hunt for Snow Leopard
- Don't connect to the internet immediately. Modern HTTPS certificates have expired on Snow Leopard. Safari will throw errors everywhere.
- Install Legacy Certificates: Search for "Snow Leopard SSL fix" to install ISRG Root X1 certificates.
- Software Update: You will need to download the "Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1." This is a separate DMG (about 900MB). You must install this to get the Mac App Store working (though the store is mostly dead for old OS versions).
- Rosetta: It is not installed by default. Insert the DVD/DMG again, run the Optional Installs package, and check "Rosetta."
