qBittorrent and ed2k Links: What You Need to Know

Go back to Tools -> Options -> Connection.
Scroll to the ED2K subsection.
Port: Use a port between 4662 and 4672 (Default: 4662). Ensure this port is forwarded in your router and firewall.
Max connections per ED2K task: Start with 300.
Kad nodes file: Leave as default (kad_nodes.dat). This is stored in your qBittorrent profile folder.

Workaround?

Protocol Differences: BitTorrent is designed for speed and "spreading files quickly," while ED2K is optimized for longevity and "ensuring files spread as long as possible". Go back to Tools -> Options -> Connection

What You Can Do

If you love the idea of qBittorrent handling ED2K:

To convert an ED2K hash to a torrent: there is no direct automated conversion; the underlying networks are incompatible. Manual coordination (finding a torrent with matching hash/size/filename) is required.

IP Filtering: It can import IP filter lists in the eMule .dat or PeerGuardian formats to block known malicious peers.
