Delete Config Files: Find and delete AudioConfig.cfg, GraphicsConfig.cfg, and StatsConfig.cfg. Run the Configuration Tool: Open Steam and click Play. Press Win + R , type regedit , press Enter

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sonic generations Delete Existing Configs : Delete any files ending in , specifically GraphicsConfig.cfg AudioConfig.cfg StatsConfig.cfg Run the Configuration Tool and select instead of "Play". Save and Exit You will see multiple GUID folders

  1. Press Win + R, type regedit, press Enter.
  2. Navigate to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video
    
  3. You will see multiple GUID folders. Each represents a past or present GPU.
  4. Look for folders containing old GPU names (e.g., "GTX 970" if you now have an RTX 4070).
  5. Delete only the folders tied to old, removed GPUs. Do not delete your current GPU’s folder.
  6. Restart your PC.
