The most noticeable change is the weather. In the stable build, the desert is static—hot and dry. In this test build, heatwaves actually distort textures, and rare "Mirage Lakes" appear on the horizon. If you drive toward them, they vanish, but sometimes, they leave behind lootable wreckage. It’s buggy, but beautiful.
- Extraction: Extract the contents of the RAR archive to a directory of your choice.
- Read Documentation: Look for a readme file or similar documentation included in the archive for installation instructions.
- Proceed with Caution: Be cautious when dealing with software from unverified sources to avoid potential security risks.
- Crash Frequency: In my testing, the game crashed to desktop (CTD) approximately every 35 minutes, specifically when the procedural generation attempted to load a "Town" tile while the new Mirage system was active.
- Save Corruption: The save system in The Long Drive.v2024.11.26b.Test.rar is volatile. Manual saves often load you inside the car's trunk or 2,000 meters above the highway.
- The "Black Bush" Glitch: A widespread issue in this build is that bushes render as solid black polygons, destroying performance on mid-range GPUs.
