Introduction
- Request an unlock code from the carrier (often free if device is out of contract). Enter code via the router’s web UI or SIM unlock prompt.
Step 2 – Enter Firmware Upgrade Mode
- Power off the ZTE MF283V.
- Hold the WPS button while connecting power.
- Release after 10 seconds – the LED should blink red/green, indicating Download Mode.
- Connect to PC via USB.
This involves disassembling the router and "jumping" specific terminals with a wire to open a communication port.
